Relentlessly pursuing your goals and achieving success while having a work-life balance – is it possible? Here at ThreeFirsts, we believe it is. As a result, we have created this site where you can gain tips and coaching on how to accomplish both, but also steps to partner with someone (community) who is in the same fight.
ThreeFirsts Nation is the place where you will be able to identify your priorities in life, and subsequently identify an accountability partner or coach whose main goal is help you get to the next phase in your career. This will not be like other sites that tell you what to do or give you answers. Instead, ThreeFirsts mission is to provide insight and information to those who desire to get to the next level. If this is you, then you have come to the right place.
Yes, I am the founder and creator of ThreeFirsts, but ThreeFirsts will never be just about me, which is why it is often written in third person. However, I know that my story and background are important for TF Nation. Originally from Brooklyn, NY, my mom and I moved to Massachusetts and ultimately, Florida where I finished my high school education. After graduating high school, I left for college and graduated in 1995. Shortly thereafter, I entered the U.S. Army as an officer. After numerous travels and a deployment following September 11, 2001, I transitioned from the military to the corporate world in 2004. The corporate world served me well, but soon wore on me. I actually thought that my experiences in the corporate world would be far more gratifying than my time in the service, however, I was sadly mistaken. Nevertheless, I learned and experienced much. After 10 years in the corporate world, I transitioned into higher education and currently serve as a full-time professor. But this is not the end of the story.
You see, what you have just read is an overview of my life, because in between the lines are lots of tragedies and triumphs. These will all be shared, written about and discussed over time as they are important to demonstrate that we all can make it. I have to convey that I am a businessman first and foremost. This education thing is a love of mine, but I am an entrepreneur at heart and the ThreeFirsts journey is an identification of priorities, success and failures. Yes, I have failed much and now, you can learn from my obstacles, successes and failures too. But one thing that I have learned more than anything is that I am not an island. I cannot and will not be successful without the assistance, guidance or partnering with someone else. I will share these individuals with you through interviews (a podcast is forthcoming) and guest bloggers as well. The jist of all this – we cannot go at it alone, therefore identify your three firsts and then your accountability partner and let’s open the door to success!
